Bi weekly pod cast from Febuary

I am going to be putting out a bi weekly pod cast starting in Febuary. It will essentially be a completly live acoustic performance
with a bit of chat and having a bit of a laugh. Check it out.

Happy new year!!!

Hi everyone and all. It has been a busy year so far. I am putting the finishing touches to my new album at the moment. We have already recorded
10 tracks, but as I have been writing so much recently and have been become pretty excited with the results I wanted to record a further
4 or 5 tracks. It is a good process and I am really looking forward to getting these tracks out to the world asap.

WRITING AND RECORDING

Busy this week getting to the final stages of recording my album. We are remixing a couple of the tracks we recorded right at the begining of the album. These songs
were pretty new when we started putting them down. In the mean time I have been gigging the songs quite a bit so I felt I was singing them slightly differently so
wanted to capture that. That meant doing a new lead vocal, etc, and remixing. It is hard sometimes to revisit a track after you think it is finished but once I got going
I thought this is pretty good. Also been writing quite a lot recently. Coming up with some interesting stuff which I look forward to getting live asap.

BBC RADIO CAMBRIDGE

I am going to be appearing on Sue Marchant's evening show at BBC Radio Cambridge on November 23rd. It should be great. I really enjoyed being on her show last year. I will get the opportunity to play two live songs and have a good chat. Really looking forward to it.

Just got back from doing two dates at the Fylde music festival up in the north west. My first performance was on Saturday afternoon. I did a 45 minute set. Really
good audience. Got a great reaction to my songs. I was pouring with sweat by the end of the set. Bit of a Springsteen moment at least visually. On sunday I had
to play a pretty early set, but was lucky enough to have a really good audience. The sound was great and loved every minute of the whole experience. Hope to
go back next year to do it again. I would just like to thank Alan for putting me on at such short notice.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of the legendary songwriters Jerry Leiber and Nick Ashford. I had the luck to meet both of them on separate occasions.
I met Jerry Leiber with  Mike Stoller his songwriting partner a few years ago. I was a bit blow away to have the chance to meet such writers, but I found them
both to be incredably down to earth and happy to sit and chat about their song writing. Wonderful people. I met Nick Ashford about three years ago when I got the chance
to play at the club in New York that he ran with his wife Valerie Simpson. I only had the opportunity to speak with them briefly after I had performed, but I remember buzzing for several days afterwards thinking Nick Ashford had really liked the song I had played that night. Like Jerry Leiber he was a brilliant songwriter who's music will be played for the rest of time.

Had a great time at BBC Lancashire last Thursday afternoon. I want to thank John "Gilly" Gilmore, Chris T, Carol and all for putting the show together. We had a packed
radio theatre in Darwin street. The audience was wonderful, as I must say, they are, every time I have had the pleasure of doing this show. I played an extensive set which included songs such as Ghosts, Warp Glass, A Little Rain Must Fall and a song I haven't played for a while, When Every Single Word Is True. I also tried out some news songs such as The Summer Of. The show is still available on BBC iplayer for a couple more days, so check it out if you get the chance. I am off back to the north west this
weekend to play at the Fylde Folk Music Festival. I am playing on Saturday September 3rd and Sunday September 4th. Should be really good fun. Looking forward to it.

I am really looking to going up to Blackburn next week for my show at BBC Radio Lancashire. I will be on air at 3 pm. The show is in front of a live audience in the radio theatre. It was fully booked after 5 days after it was featured on the BBC in the audience web site. I love this show as the audience is very close to where I am performing, creating a very intimate atmosphere, quite unlike many gigs and what is great it is that it is on the radio at the same time.

I will get the opportunity to play a lot of new material from my forth coming album The Light On The Hill plus songs from All Caught Up and This Atlantic Low. I will also have a crack at some completely brand new songs, such as On The Greatest Day which I only wrote yesterday. I really like how this song has come together and want to see how it goes down.
